Samsung CLP-300

When you think of a colour laser printer you probably think of big expensive machines that cost a fortune to run in terms of printer cartridges, but the new Samsung CLP-300 will change all that. In terms of running costs the Samsung CLP-300 toner cartridges don’t cost much more than your average inkjet cartridges and they print a lot more pages than your average inkjet cartridge, the black prints 2,000 pages and the colours 1,000 pages each. The there are four Samsung toners cartridges in all as well as a drum unit and waste toner bottle which needs to be changed less frequently than the toner cartridges. When start using the CLP-300 you notice that is well designed and well built, it’s not the prettiest thing in the world but it is functional. The paper tray hold around 150 sheets and the paper feed has a very smooth operation, the paper feed and the operation noise in general is very quiet which not what we have come to expect from budget laser printers. Printing speed is good and very close to the official figures given by Samsung of 16ppm printing in mono, colour printing is a little slower but still true the 4ppm quoted on the CLP-300’s documentation. Print quality is also very good, it can be a little heavy at times but this can be manually adjusted using the software that comes with the CLP-300. Compared to other printers offered from other brands the CLP-300 matches them in terms of performance and beats them in terms of value for money.
